I’ve played disc golf on and off for the past ten years. It’s fun to watch a disc hurling through the air, avoiding trees and water at all costs, to eventually end up clanking a basket full of chains. I wanted to design a brand that reflects the love I have for the game.
Tulip Disc Golf is a bold, in your face brand and the new ambassador for the sport of disc golf.
Tulip Disc Golf enters the market of a growing sport, hoping to draw more attention to disc golf nationwide and appeal to avid and aspiring players.
I remember playing disc golf for the first time and having no clue how to hold, throw, or land a disc close to the basket. It has been something I have enjoyed for years and I appreciate each opportunity to head outside and explore new courses.
When coming up with the name, I decided on tulip because the flower in full bloom resembles the shape of a disc golf basket.
The secondary icon mark was designed to look like a tulip and represents 3 discs standing upright.
Further into my research for the brand, I found the names of tulip bulbs are perfect for naming discs that could potentially be made:
My main focus on this project was to create branded apparel I could see myself wearing out on the course and something that would inevitably bring smiles to other disc golf players.
If you’ve never played before, give it a go.
